Medical Assistant- Complex Care Clinic (KM)

Overview :

Students must work as scheduled without issue for at least one year, no exceptions.

Day shift, Monday-Friday. 8a-4 : 30pm clinic hours.

Full time, 1.0 FTE, Benefits eligible, Non-exempt

Starting pay : $20.65 / hr + based on experience.

Essential Functions :

• May prepare correspondence, documents, reports and other materials of varying complexity and confidentiality, sometimes requiring independent judgment.
• Schedules patient appointments and provides follow-up and reminder calls.
• Assists with various clinical tasks that include rooming of patients, vital signs, heights and weights, and any applicable screening questions.
• Provides basic, supportive patient care and administers approved medications under the delegation of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Collects and reports data to a licensed professional, including any abnormalities, and documents all findings in the medical record.
• May act as a preceptor for orientation and training of new staff, float staff and students as directed.

Education Requirement :

Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or five years of equivalent experience, required.

Certifications :

CPR certified (American Heart Association Heart saver with pediatric content) course, or Health Care Provider course or Red Cross equivalent, required.
