Summary :
Responsible for coordination of orientation of all nursing personnel; representation of CHRISTUS in community activities; and planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing continuing education programs
Responsibilities :
Maintains consistency with Administrative and Departmental policies with appropriate behavior, dress, attitude, attendance, confidentiality, professionalism, and reliability
Ensures compliance with all policies, procedures and standards as promulgated by local, state and federal agencies, the hospital, and other regulatory entities
Plans and implements educational activities to meet identified learning needs, utilizing adult education principles
Develops and utilized appropriate evaluative system to determine effectiveness of educational activities
Promotes collaborative relationships among health care professionals
Participates in committees, task forces, meetings, and activities to assist in the development of staff, ultimately resulting in improved care
Participates in activities that promote professional development through education and other activities that enhance the practice of nursing and education
Onboarding / Orientation – may develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct, and evaluate on-boarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel, including when changes in roles, responsibilities, and practice settings occur
Competency management – support ongoing assessment and evaluation of expected level of performance that integrates knowledge, skills, ability and judgment; develop, coordinate, manage, facilitate, conduct competency programs
Education – design educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, which may include licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel
Continuing nursing education – may develop, coordinate, manage, conduct and evaluate learning activities intended to build upon the educational and experiential bases of professional RN for the enhancement of practice, education, administration, research, or theory development
Professional role development – assist in identification and development of strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning
Research / Evidence-based Practice / Quality Improvement – participation in research, evidence-based practice (EBP) and quality improvement (QI) educational activities and projects
Collaborative partnerships – share expertise in planning and decision-making to achieve the desired results of the groups or organization
Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements : Education / Skills
Graduate of an accredited RN program
BSN degree preferred
Experience
Minimum of three years clinical RN experience required
Clinical educator or nursing instructor experience preferred
Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Current Texas State RN License
BLS (American Heart Association) required
ACLS preferred
Work Schedule : 5 Days - 8 Hours
