Job Summary

The J. Whitney Bunting College of Business and Technology at Georgia College & State University, with programs of study accredited by AACSB and ABET, invites applications for the position of Lecturer for Business Law beginning January, 2026 . Candidates with a graduate degree in law (JD or equivalent) are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with a terminal degree. The faculty member, in this 10-month, non-tenure-track position, will teach introductory undergraduate courses in business and ethics. The Department of Accounting and Business Law offers service courses in accounting and business law taken by all students in the College of Business and Technology and academic programs of study includingBBA in Accounting and Master of Accountancy (MAcc); and participates in the highly successful Georgia WebMBA.

Responsibilities

Lecturers at Georgia College & State University are an integral part of the University faculty, engaged practitioners, and university citizens. In addition to teaching in the field by providing foundation courses for majors and non'majors alike, all Georgia College & State University faculty share the responsibility of teaching our core university core curriculum by teaching topical freshman (GC1Y) or sophomore seminar (GC2Y) courses. Faculty are also expected to develop and demonstrate knowledge of current philosophies, practices, and theories related to the academic discipline. Other critical responsibilities include :

• Professional Engagement : Lecturers are expected to have professional experience at the time of hire and to sustain currency and relevancy through continued professional experience and engagement related to their professional background and experience in the field of teaching. We expect all lecturers to maintain appropriate faculty qualifications status in alignment with the College of Business & Technology policy and AACSB Standard
• Service : All faculty are expected to support the advancement of our mission by providing high quality service to the department, college, university, community, and disciplinary level.

Preferred Qualifications

Qualified candidates for the position as Lecturer for Business Law must have a graduate degree in Law (JD or equivalent) and the ability to teach courses in business law and ethics. Other required qualifications include :
