Job Description
This Superintendent is responsible for the management and timely completion of multiple civil projects within an allotted budget. The position will be responsible for scheduling the project activities and directly supervise various foreman in the construction of highways, roads, and underground utilities.
Responsibilities :
- Coordinate crew production through directives given to foremen
- Maintain construction schedule while identifying and solving problems
- Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process
- Ensures that ALL resources assigned are maintained, protected, secured and used
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately
- Responsible for all employees and contractors adhering to company safety policies
- Work with Project Management to create look ahead reports
- Maintain clean, organized job sites and equipment
- Responsible of daily activities reports and tracking materials
- Maintain quantities and tracking job cost
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements :
Thorough knowledge of heavy highway construction operationsMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook )Basic understanding of estimating and job costFamiliarity with the materials, methods, and techniques relative to road / highway constructionKnowledge of field safetyAbility to supervise road / highway construction projects from general plans and instructions given and to determine the proper amounts of various materials, tools, and equipment neededAbility to understand and interpret engineering plansAbility to communicate with others to convey information effectivelyAbility to understand project documents including construction plans, specifications, material data sheets, safety data sheets, and other necessary informationAbility to keep organized records and to prepare work and time reportsAbility to understand and efficiently carry out instructionsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously and allocate resources as neededMust be able to lift a minimum of 50 poundsAbility to work with management to resolve issues that arise on a projectMust be accustomed to working outdoors with exposure to all weather conditionsMust be able to perform physical activities that may require climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and bendingPreferred Qualifications :
4 year degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is strongly preferred5+ years of successful road / highway construction experienceIn depth knowledge of road / highway construction projects including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower Strong Viewpoint and HCSS (HeavyBid) software skillsExperience with construction scheduling programs. Preferably in Primavera P6.Previous experience with Asphalt Paving, Grading, and General ConstructionExperience in managing City / Municipal / Residential road-building projectsProject Estimating skillsDocumentation of construction safety trainingExperience with daily operations cost track systemsJob Posted by ApplicantPro
