Job Title and Location

Flex Security Officer – Detroit, MI area. All shifts are available. Position offers a pay rate of $19 / hr, paid weekly.

Responsibilities

  • Read and become knowledgeable of Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and act quickly and efficiently according to those directives.
  • Perform a multitude of duties as specified by Post Orders and SOPs.

Qualifications

  • Previous Security Officer experience preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to complete drug screen and background check.
  • Must be flexible and team oriented.
  • Previous truck experience is a plus.

    • Flex Officer Explanation

    The Flex Officer position provides trained, competent support by working shifts opening due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work balance of personnel.

    Scheduling Expectations

    Scheduling parameters and expectations for a Flex Officer differ from a fixed-post employee. You will be trained at various posts based on operational need. Your schedule will vary based on operational needs and you may be assigned shifts as they become available. Some shifts may be scheduled in advance; others may be called with short notice.

  • You may work at a specific post for several weeks due to need, but this is not a permanent assignment.
  • You are expected to work any scheduled shift within your availability.
  • If you are unavailable for an upcoming date / time within your availability, inform your supervisor.
  • For short-notice call-ins, you are expected to work at least 80% of the shifts called; refusal of more than 20% may impact employment status.

    • Education Requirements

    High School diploma or equivalent.
