Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic, neuro, and vascular skills for a Level 1 trauma center assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a busy Operating Room with 14 suites at a Level 1 trauma center
  • Handles a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho, general, neuro, vascular, urology, robotics, and some ophthalmology
  • Pediatric and adolescent cases are preferred but not required
  • Shift is 4x10 hour days, Monday through Friday, 6 : 30am to 5 : 00pm, with a rotating day off and required call
  • No required documentation systems but Epic EMR experience is preferred
  • Locals residing within the listed counties or within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible
  • Responsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of complex surgical procedures
  • No hearts or transplant cases performed in this OR
  • Team covers call shifts as assigned
  • Must complete onsite orientation modules during first week; no time off approved the first week
  • No travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignment
  • No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved
  • Epic EMR experience is an advantage but not required
  • The work environment is fast-paced with robust support for advanced trauma and surgical procedures

    • Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Valid BLS certification and NBSTSA certification required
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • At least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
  • Previous travel RN experience required
  • Proficiency in general OR, trauma, endo / lap, neuro, ortho, podiatry, thoracic, urology, vascular, and related skills
  • Experience with procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass is required
  • Must not have been a permanent staff member at this facility within the past year
