Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong orthopedic, neuro, and vascular skills for a Level 1 trauma center assignment.
Responsibilities
Work in a busy Operating Room with 14 suites at a Level 1 trauma centerHandles a wide range of surgical specialties including ortho, general, neuro, vascular, urology, robotics, and some ophthalmologyPediatric and adolescent cases are preferred but not requiredShift is 4x10 hour days, Monday through Friday, 6 : 30am to 5 : 00pm, with a rotating day off and required callNo required documentation systems but Epic EMR experience is preferredLocals residing within the listed counties or within 50 miles of the facility are not eligibleResponsibilities include circulating and scrubbing for a variety of complex surgical proceduresNo hearts or transplant cases performed in this ORTeam covers call shifts as assignedMust complete onsite orientation modules during first week; no time off approved the first weekNo travel pairs or groups accepted for this assignmentNo more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approvedEpic EMR experience is an advantage but not requiredThe work environment is fast-paced with robust support for advanced trauma and surgical proceduresRequirements
Active TX or compact RN license required at time of considerationValid BLS certification and NBSTSA certification requiredACLS certification preferredAt least 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience requiredPrevious travel RN experience requiredProficiency in general OR, trauma, endo / lap, neuro, ortho, podiatry, thoracic, urology, vascular, and related skillsExperience with procedures such as AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, and femoral popliteal bypass is requiredMust not have been a permanent staff member at this facility within the past yearBenefits
