American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with strong neuro experience and required certifications for night shifts and weekend coverage.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital settingNight shift schedule (3x12 Hour Shifts, 19 : 00 - 07 : 00)3 to 4 weekend shifts per month on Friday or Saturday nightsNurse-to-patient ratios range from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2+Care for neuro and post-surgical patients including fempops, CEAs, post thoracic surgeries, post cranis, and neurosurgeriesResponsibilities include airway management, vent management, artline and central line management, IV drips, dysrhythmia management, continuous IV sedation, titration of IV vasopressors, and isolation precautionsEPIC EMR system is used and requiredFloating to different units may be requiredPrimary duties include management of neurocritical and complex post-surgical patients in an ICU environmentModules completed during orientation and annually as assignedModules typically require about 2 hours and are recorded via transcriptsFirst time travelers are accepted for this assignmentTeam-based environment with opportunities for cross-unit collaborationAnnual and orientation modules may vary by specialtyReturn staff must wait 2 years before being eligible to return as travelers\n \n Requirements\n
Active KY or compact RN license in handMinimum of 2 years ICU nursing experience with at least 1.5+ years of recent experienceStrong neuro experience is requiredPrevious travel nursing experience is requiredCurrent certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIHSSMust be able to interpret ABGs and dysrhythmiasExperience with management of multisystem organ dysfunction / failureMust provide two professional references for considerationCandidates must live more than 75 miles from the facility to qualify for travel status\n Benefits\n
