Pharmacy Technician II - Certified - Sterile Compounding (Wilmington)

Overview :

Join our fast-paced inpatient pharmacy team and contribute to a crucial healthcare environment. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, helping to support the entire hospital.

Key Responsibilities :

• Rotate through multiple positions on central shifts, including Triage, Carousel, and Pyxis.
• Triage :
• Answer nurse inquiries and provide medication-related information.
• Deliver high-alert medications to ICU, NICU, and other critical care units.
• Perform additional pharmacy duties as needed.
• Carousel :
• Scan and track medications for patients.
• Repackage medications when necessary.
• Assist with answering nurse questions and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Pyxis :
• Ensure medication availability in Pyxis machines throughout the hospital.
• Check medication expiration dates and perform necessary updates.
• Address nurse questions on the floor related to medication dispensing.

Qualifications :

Acute : Minimum of two pharmacy skills (examples may include medication distribution, sterile compounding, and / or medication listing activities) required. OR...hired as a Pharmacy Technician 1 Certified and now competently performing a second pharmacy skill as described above, required.

Current registry with applicable State Board(s) of pharmacy, required.

State Registration and / or evidence of renewal is required for both Pharmacists and Technicians fifteen days prior to expiration and Technicians are required to be either certified through Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA), or be actively enrolled in pharmacy school, or be active in Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Examination (FPGEE) or Foreign Pharmacy Equivalency Certification (FPGEC).
