POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides support to Bone and Joint Institute of Tennessee by answering patient calls, setting patient appointments, maintaining records and providing customer service.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training :

High School graduate or equivalent.

Workplace Experience :

At least one year medical office experience and ability to communicate well

Equipment and Skills Training :

Competent in the use of computers, printers, facsimile machines, copy machines, business phones, document scanners and other office equipment and supplies.

Physical Environment :

Office environment.

Physical Effort :

Must be able to sit, stand, communicate in English, both verbally and in written form, squat, reach overhead, operate a computer / keyboard and heard instruction as appropriate.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS

  • Schedules appointments appropriately in Allscripts and Meditech
  • Maintains current patient information such as demographics and insurance
  • Provides simple medical advice under the direction of the physician
  • Provides patients with info on HIPPA and insures compliance
  • Maintains patient records
  • Insures patients are informed of changes with providers schedules
  • Has the ability to work independently
  • Is able to perform task with limited questions or guidance from co-workers or team lead
  • Consistently verifies patient insurance information
  • Follows scheduling instructions
  • Performs duties with limited scheduling errors

Maintains open line of communication with all staff
