Job Summary
The Permanency Expeditor’s primary responsibility is to help prospective permanency resources navigate the adoption and kinship guardianship process and complete the paperwork necessary to achieve permanency for the family. This position works closely with case workers, legal staff, foster families, and community partners to ensure that each child achieves a safe, stable, and permanent home as quickly as possible.
Essential Functions
- Provides a thorough understanding of Foster Care, Adoption and KinGAP for birth and resource families.
- Collaborates with permanency team to ensure achievement of ACS adoption and KinGAP targets.
- Compiles all documents for Adoption and KinGAP cases and maintains comprehensive tracking system for time sensitive documents.
- Participates in Adoption and KinGAP goal change family team conferences.
- Completes Adoption home study evaluations as required by the Family or Surrogate Courts
- Completes and submits KinGAP paperwork to KinGAP online system.
- Responsible for compiling, reviewing, editing, finalizing and updating the Adoption and KinGAP applications.
- Responsible for entering data in different New York State and New York City database systems.
- Maintain communication with attorneys retained to file adoption and KinGAP petition to finalize permanency.
- Works with internal partners to help support and enhance the Adoption and KinGAP process.
- Knowledge of and ability to navigate state and federal applications tools needed for permanency process.
- Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to travel locally as needed to complete home assessments and / or attend court hearings.
- Attend internal and external meetings as necessary.
- Assists in emergency situations as needed.
- Provides permanency aftercare services, as requested.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all agency policies, procedures and governmental regulations, including but not limited to HIPAA.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, detail oriented and able to handle multiple simultaneous

Bachelors - $29.12 / hr - $31.04 / hr
Bachelors (Bilingual)- $30.22 / hr - $32.15 / hr
Masters - $30.22 / hr - $33.24 / hr
Masters (Bilingual) - $31.59 / hr - $34.34 / hr
Masters (Bilingual & License) - $34.43 / hr - $37.09 / hr
