Description :

MUST HAVE NEW YORK LICENSE IN HAND.

Specialty involves PCU.

Shift is 4x12 nights.

Weekend requirement is every other weekend.

Epic experience required.

Unit consists of 26 beds.

The Intermediate Care unit (IMCU) is dedicated to providing exceptional, evidence-based care to our patients.

Patients are received from various areas including the Emergency Department, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and medical-surgical floors.

The patient population includes adult, acute care patients who require more specialized care than is typically available on a general medical-surgical unit.

All patients have continuous pulse-oximetry and telemetry monitoring.

Care includes airway management and acute BIPAP support.

Patients may also have arterial lines, central lines, and require titrated medicated IV infusions.

Patient care services vary widely based on individual needs.

The team adapts quickly, remains vigilant, and provides compassionate care using a multi-disciplinary approach.

No local candidates within 75 miles will be accepted.

The facility has a total of 528 staffed beds.

Scrub color can be any combination of navy and white.

Patient ratios for days are 3, for nights are 4, and weekends are 3.

Candidates will require floating to ICU or medical-surgical units.

Interdisciplinary support is provided by IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries.

The patient diagnoses cover all medical diagnoses with a focus on pulmonary patients.
