PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY :

The Utility Machine Operator is responsible for operating various production machinery as assigned by the Supervisor and according to the daily production schedule. Safely operates corrugated converting equipment including the Window Film, Flatbed Die Cutter and Curtain Coater machine ensuring high-quality corrugated packaging and products are produced at a consistent rate of speed within established machine standards, production goals, and customer specifications.

Operators may cross trains in other areas or on other machines as needed and perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

AUTHORITY : Must have the ability to lead a crew that has been placed with them to execute the demands of the operation efficiently and to respond to oral instructions from the supervisor and written instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS :

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE : High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year experience in a manufacturing or production environment including 3-6 months of machine operation experience; experience in a corrugated plant is preferred. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize computer software. Requires mechanical aptitude and skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
