Overview

NSC has an urgent need for structural fluxcore steel welders for shipbuilding production welding in Sturgeon Bay, WI.

Responsibilities

  • Use a wide range of welding filler metals and welding processes to perform structural welds in all phases of ship construction.
  • Use various welding processes including 2G and 3G FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding) tests as required.
  • Weld all positions using both manual and mechanized processes; welds must satisfy nondestructive test requirements (visual inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic inspection, radiographic inspection).
  • Perform these functions in environments of extreme heights, confined spaces, and various weather conditions within the shipyard.
  • Troubleshoot minor welding equipment problems.
  • Flux Cored welding tests in 2G, 3G, 4G required; pay rate based on test results.

  • Shift options include 8-10 hour shifts, day, evening, night, and overnight shifts.
  • Experience : Welding experience of 2 years required.
  • Ability to relocate to Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235 before starting work (Required).

    • Work Type : Full-time, Contract, Temporary

    Pay : 16.00 - 19.00 USD per hour

    Expected hours : No less than 40 per week
