Job Description

Job Description

Dexter designs and delivers axles, suspensions, brakes, doors, venting solutions, trailer parts, accessories, and towing components to the commercial trailer, RV, heavy-duty, marine, agriculture, and manufactured housing markets. With 18 manufacturing plants and more than 30 distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, we’re recognized for quality, innovation, and outstanding customer service.

A day in the life

You start your shift with a quick scan of the CMMS to prioritize preventive maintenance. A CNC cell flags a tool-life alert; you adjust offsets and swap tooling to keep production on pace. A PLC-controlled conveyor trips intermittently—within minutes, you trace the fault to an I / O issue, update the logic, and restore flow. Later, you partner with operations to reduce unplanned downtime and end the day closing out a facilities work order on the compressed air system.

What you’ll own

  • Diagnose and repair CNC equipment, PLC-driven machinery, robotics, and other logic-controlled systems to maximize uptime
  • Execute and improve preventive maintenance schedules via CMMS
  • Support production through tool life management, adjustments, and mechanical / electrical repairs
  • Assist with facilities maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, and compressed air systems
  • Champion safety practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Location

Provo, UT

What you bring

  • 2+ years maintaining CNC or automation equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Associate-level technical education or equivalent hands-on training preferred
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming and controls (G / M codes; Fanuc experience a plus)
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability
  • Collaborative, problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced, team setting
