Test Technician I
Location : Oshkosh, WI (with occasional travel to South Carolina – approx. 10%)
Pay Range : $36 – $40 per hour (based on experience)
Schedule : Full-time, 1st shift (Monday – Friday)
Employment Type : Long-term Contract
Overview :
We are seeking a Technician to join our team in Oshkosh, WI This role supports senior technicians and engineers in testing vehicles, components, and systems. The position involves performing repairs, configuration changes, troubleshooting, and assisting with vehicle fabrication and assembly. The work contributes to validating new product designs and resolving issues with existing products.
Key Responsibilities :
- Conduct prototype and production vehicle testing to evaluate performance and compliance with specifications.
- Record test data using knowledge of vehicle systems (electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic).
- Troubleshoot and perform basic failure analysis, following established test procedures.
- Assemble, disassemble, and fabricate parts, test stands, and fixtures in collaboration with engineers and senior technicians.
- Operate vehicles and heavy equipment as required for testing and material handling.
- Select and use appropriate test instruments for product evaluations.
- Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.
- Plan and prioritize daily activities to ensure timely project completion.
- Communicate effectively across teams to resolve technical issues.
- Interpret and carry out written and verbal instructions.
Minimum Qualifications :
Technical Diploma plus 3 years of engineering-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and hands-on work.Ability to travel up to 10%.Preferred Qualifications :
Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Automotive, Agricultural, or related field.Background in mechanical, automotive, or heavy equipment systems.CDL license (preferred, not required).Welding certification and / or ability to read engineering drawings.Strong knowledge of automotive and mechanical terminology.Familiarity with safety rules, maintenance procedures, and technical documents.Strong attention to detail, with effective written and verbal communication skills.Mechanic tool set and tool box.Interview Process :
