Job Details : Purpose
We are seeking a highly skilled Epic Testing Coordinator to lead and manage testing activities for our enterprise-wide Epic implementation. This role is critical to ensuring system integrity, patient safety, and operational readiness across our 400-bed tertiary hospital, outpatient clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers. The coordinator will support both the initial go-live, additional implementation phases, and ongoing optimization.
Responsibilities
Testing Strategy & Execution
Develop and manage comprehensive testing plans across all Epic modules (clinical, administrative, patient-facing, and research).
Lead unit, integrated, regression, user acceptance (UAT), and parallel testing cycles.
Coordinate testing across multiple Epic Build Waves and environments (POC, TST, PRD).
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Epic analysts, IT, clinical operations, HR, Finance, and Supply Chain teams.
Facilitate testing workgroups and stakeholder engagement across departments.
Defect Management & Documentation
Oversee defect tracking, triage, and resolution processes.
Maintain detailed test scripts, logs, and traceability matrices.
Collaborate with technical colleagues to help identify any infrastructure related issues that have resulted in clinical application issues.
Post-Go-Live Optimization & Upgrades
Support quarterly Epic upgrades, new feature testing, and long-term system reliability.
Collaborate with analytics teams to validate KPIs and reporting tools.
Marginal or Periodic Functions :
Assists with other project areas as needed.
Provides backup support during peak times or staff shortages.
Participates in special projects and initiatives.
Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrates a strong understanding of IT principles, software development, and system analysis, typically evidenced by a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Test coordination experience of at least 2+ years in an Epic environment.
Experience and proven success in information systems implementation, development and support within a large-scale healthcare organization.
Strong understanding of clinical and administrative workflows.
Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Epic certification in one or more modules (preferred).
Prior experience with Epic implementations, especially in Ambulatory, Optime, or Revenue Cycle modules.
ITIL Foundation certification.
Active Epic Certification, Accreditation, or Proficiency in related applications.
Extensive experience with clinical information systems, typically demonstrated by at least 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience as a major participant in EHR configuration.
Experience with online scheduling design and implementation.
Experience with Epic testing tools (e.g., Scenario Manager, Test Script Manager).
Experience in test automation and automation tools.
Experience of at least 1 Epic implementation as a testing coordinator / lead.
Salary Range
$75,750 + depending on qualifications
