Responsibilities
Direct the flow of the department, assign staff, coordinate surgical needs between Sterile Processing and the OR, communicate with other hospital units and vendors, maintain inventory control for instruments and supplies, monitor biological testing results, train team members, organize in-services, and assume department responsibilities in the absence of the Director.Assist in organizing and maintaining IMPRESS surgical instrument management system.Commit to continued education of new procedures, techniques and equipment / instrumentation pertaining to Sterile Processing.Be conscientious with procedures and accept assignments to all duties relative to the department and carry a departmental communication device.Qualifications
Must be certified and maintain registration as a CRCSTHigh School DiplomaMust have graduated from an approved Central Sterile Processing class3 years of experience in Sterile Processing required; 2 years of experience as a Sterile Processing Lead or Supervisor preferredThorough knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization techniquesComputer knowledge within six months of employmentBasic understanding of the P.I. processAbility to read, write, speak and comprehend English; ability to perform simple mathPhysical requirements : ability to lift over 25 pounds of instrument trays, push / pull carts, reach and handle instrumentsPay Range : $27.75 - $38.84 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary by location.
