Job Title : Member Business Loan Portfolio Manager
Department : Member Business Services
Reports To : Chief Commercial Officer
Job Summary : The MBL Portfolio Manager serves as an integral part of the business services team helping to onboard new business member relationships and providing ongoing monitoring of the business loan portfolio including assisting with renewals and annual reviews. The key responsibilities are helping to analyze financial statements, preparing credit presentations, and processing all required forms and related documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Gather background information on members and prospective members applying for business loans by interviewing applicants.
- Assist members with the loan application process in person, on the phone, or electronically to ensure completeness of information.
- Pull credit reports for all accounts, verify debt, estimate monthly payments for any outstanding debts not listed, and add those debts to the application.
- Calculate debt service coverage ratios and debt-to-income ratios on loan applicants and calculate how much of a loan applicant's debt is secured or unsecured.
- Uses computer software to further evaluate members' financial situation and financial ratios.
- Assists in compiling information, completing loan presentations, and composing reports detailing the degree of risk involved in loan or credit requests; recommends approval or denial based on results.
- Assists in setting interest rate and minimum or maximum term of repayment for business members based on historical cash flow, collateral coverage, credit score, and personal financial resources.
- Determines the expected profitability of loans by analyzing a business's financial data including quality of management, income growth trends, and payment history.
- Identifies delinquent accounts through the review of individual and business member files including compiling & completing annual reviews.
- Ensure that sound analysis and lending procedures are followed by acting in compliance with Member Business Lending policy and regulations at all times.
- Oversee the preclosing process, which includes ensuring the timely receipt of appraisals, so that closing dates are met.
- Order title commitments and other related real estate due diligence including flood certification and environmental screens.
- Assist in the collection and organization of information necessary to complete the closing process, review organizational documents, and prepare Beneficial Ownership documents prior to opening membership accounts and loans
- Utilizing credit union software, produces the appropriate loan documentation as needed in compliance with the Credit Union's loan policy, applicable regulations, and with any other requirements designated by the credit approval document.
- Monitor documentation and exception reports as they pertain to new and existing accounts and ensure corrections are made or provide direction to staff tasked with making the corrections as needed to clear exceptions.
- Explain reasons for denial and explore options for members when business loans are denied.
- Responsible for collection activity of business accounts in conjunction with Collections Dept.
- Resolves complaints from members and nonmembers in a professional manner.
- Cross-sell lending and other credit union products as appropriate.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Identify reportable transactions and activities under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), its implementing regulations, and Unison's Anti-Money Laundering program. Comply with requirements under Unison's Member (Customer) Identification Program (CIP), FinCEN 314a procedures, and OFAC regulations and sanction programs.

Qualifications :
Attention to detail and ability to plan, organize, prioritize and multi-task.Professional, well developed interpersonal skills necessary for servicing credit union members and projecting a positive image as a representative of the credit union.Ability to perform duties and make decisions under sometimes stressful situations.Ability to take initiative and work independently. Must be self-motivated.Basic computer skills as well as office equipment, such as but not limited to, fax machine, calculator, photocopiers and scanners are necessary.Ability to sit for extended periods of time.Knowledge of bankruptcy laws and regulations as well as Wisconsin Consumer Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices and Fair Credit Reporting Act is a plus.Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or Mathematics preferred.2 years customer service experience required.Sales-oriented experience and experience in banking, finance, business, or related field is preferredPosition Type / Expected Hours of Work :
Full time employment is approximately 40 hours / week.Perform additional duties as assignedSchedule :
