Job Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med / Surg RN with a valid MI license and travel nursing background for a night shift assignment.

Responsibilities Work in a Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting

Primary assignment in a 10-bed ER overflow observation unit with high admission and discharge turnover

Patient ratios are 1 : 6 at night and 1 : 5 during the day, with ratios flexing up to 8 patients when supported by an LPN

Required to float to other Med / Surg units, typically about once per week

Collaboration with RNs, LPNs, and Techs expected

Night shift schedule (4x12 hour shifts, 19 : 00-07 : 30)

Every other weekend required

No block scheduling is guaranteed

Assignment involves frequent reassessment and rapid discharge of patients

Travelers have first floating priority across Med / Surg units

No holiday time off requests will be approved, but dates may be discussed with management

Modules for orientation and annual completion are required and self-reported

Locals are accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions

Return staff may be considered after a 6-month gap

Requirements Active Michigan RN license required

Current BLS (AHA) certification required

Minimum one year of recent Med / Surg RN experience required

Prior travel nursing experience required

Proof of current flu vaccination or qualifying exemption submitted within 48 hours of signing contract

Willingness to work with multidisciplinary staff
