Position Summary

The Territory Manager will be responsible for managing all services delivered within their territory. In addition, the Territory Manager is responsible for the overall operations, business development, quality, client satisfaction, personnel development, and financial results of the Territory. The Territory Manager will also work closely with other satellite locations should they exist, and any shared services such as landscape construction, tree care, lawn care, PHC, etc.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following :

  • Client Relations / Sales :
  • Foster long-term relationships with our clients and strategic partners
  • Enhance and execute a client experience that creates raving fans and drives referrals
  • Drive 90%+ LMP retention rate
  • Effectively plan and execute sales strategy for all services including Tree, Seasonal Dcor, and Landscape Enhancements
  • Achieve defined sales goals for services outside LMP (Tree, Seasonal Dcor, Landscape Enhancements)
  • Personnel :
  • Effectively plan and manage all activities of the branch to ensure goals are achieved in a safe, efficient, positive, and professional work environment
  • Lead, manage, and hold accountable Account Managers and operations staff to ensure they achieve objectives
  • Recruit, hire, develop, and retain associates
  • Create a culture that is consistent with and supports the overall company core values
  • Identify and foster training opportunities specific by role to encourage associate growth.
  • Operations :
  • Collaborate with operations managers and production managers to ensure schedules, labor hours, productivity, etc. meet or exceed goals
  • Ensure the job quality is maintained at company standards.
  • Create 30, 90 day, and annual plans anticipating needs in labor, material, and equipment by service line by time period
  • Achieve budgeted gross margin dollars and percent for your territory
  • Create a draft annual budget for the territory compliant with overall company growth and profit goals (for review by Leadership)
  • Ensure new job start-up procedure and processes are being followed
  • Ensure estimating templates and productions metrics are in alignment with gross margin goals and templates are in place for efficient processing.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve the way work is performed with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency gains
  • Other Duties :
  • Participate in winter snow operations when required
  • Ensure information and needs from other areas of business are met including human resources, finance, fleet, etc.
  • Participate in general business building activities, as needed

Sales & estimating experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is responsible for assigning, reviewing, and checking the work of other employees.

Account Managers Responsible for managing client relationships and accounts

Production Manager Responsible for managing the field managers who oversee each service in the territory. This may include services such as mowing, gardening, Irrigation, and lawn care.

Other direct reports as assigned

Education & Experience

5-7 years of Leadership and / or management experience, preferably in the landscape industry.

A four-year degree in a related field.

MCLP or MCH certifications are preferred.

License Requirements

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. These include :

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • May have to stand for prolonged periods.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to drive to other offices or locations when needed.
  • Stand and walk throughout a minimum 8-hour shift
  • Lift and move heavy items up to 50 pounds
  • Regularly bend, lift, stretch, twist, and reach below the waist and above the head
  • Climb in and out of trucks, equipment, and trailers numerous times per day
  • Work in all weather conditions and seasons
  • Additional Information :

    This position is not a remote position and requires the ability to work in the office and travel to client properties when required.
