About the Job :

As Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator, you will be dealing with a group of 20-30 bus operators providing service on regularly scheduled routes as well as single and multi-day charters. Established schedules and work assignments must be compliant with federal laws as well as promote safety and customer service. This is a 1st shift position running until 6pm, most likely a Tuesday - Saturday position with some flexibility for special events. off during the week. Flexibility is required; initial training will be on day shift 7-4.

DUTIES :

As Dispatcher / Transportation Coordinator you will report to the Operations Manager. We have a diverse group of drivers, so communication skills are necessary. Duties include but are not limited to :

Comply with federal laws as well as promote safety and customer service.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with all drivers and support staff. .
Understand DOT Hours of Service and review logs and address any compliance issues.
Fairly observe and review drivers' performance.
Handle accidents and complaints in a timely manner.
Assure enforcement of all rules and policies as provided by the President and COO.
Ensure drivers are in proper uniform and on time for their shift.
Handle driver scheduling issues and conflicts as they arise.

REQUIREMENTS :

High School Diploma is required.

Experience in transportation logistics is preferred and will offset a lack of an Associate degree.

Must demonstrate qualities of leadership and administrative ability.

Ability to plan, initiate, direct, and carry out short and long-term programs.

Candidates holding a cdl with passenger endorsement are preferred
