Assistant Project Manager Federal Construction

My client is a general contractor located in Rosemont, IL. Over the past few years, they have expanded their presence across the Midwest significantly and have become more heavily involved in larger government / federal projects. They pride themselves on the ability to take on any project type or complexity and deliver quality results. They work on both ground-up and renovation projects in various sectors. Creating a supportive culture is a key factor to their success, so the ideal candidate is someone who works hard and lifts others up.

Job Description

Oversee and run projects from preconstruction phase through closeout. Organize business development meetings when necessary. Plans and coordinates project activities inline with company polices and procedures. Assist Senior PMs with client meetings - establish long-standing relationships w / clients. Creates and reviews project schedules. Coordinate with field crews and superintendents to ensure project delivery. Responsible for forecasting and estimating costs and changes to costs for project completion. Ensure safety protocols are being adhered to on the job site. Travel when necessary (once a month per project). Create positive / welcoming work environment for teams.

The Successful Applicant

At least 2+ years of experience in the construction industry. Must have project experience with government and / or federal projects. VA work is a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred (degree in construction is a plus). Heavy estimating experience is a plus. Organized and able to effectively communicate. Creative / fun personality. Prior experience interacting with clients.
