NEW Pathologist Assistant Opportunity (Full-Time)

Join a leading pathology team in a high-volume hospital setting, providing expert technical and diagnostic support to pathologists and residents. As a Pathologist Assistant , you ll play a critical role in surgical pathology, autopsy services, and decedent affairs, helping ensure accuracy, safety, and quality across the laboratory.
About the Role :
You ll perform gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, assist in autopsies, and maintain compliance with CAP and Joint Commission standards. This position also supports frozen section, histology, and immunohistochemistry operations, contributing to efficient and high-quality diagnostic processes.
Key Responsibilities :
Accession, dissect, and gross surgical specimens including complex resections such as colon, mastectomy, and melanoma cases
Prepare, describe, and process tissue samples for microscopic evaluation
Assist with frozen section preparation and staining as needed
Support autopsy services, including external and internal examinations, organ dissection, and specimen sampling
Qualifications :
Master s degree from an accredited Pathologist Assistant program
PA (ASCP) certification required (or must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
1 2 years of relevant experience preferred
Strong knowledge of surgical pathology, histologic preparation, and autopsy procedures
Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills
Proficiency with laboratory information systems and digital pathology tools
