Mortgage Servicing : Loan Admin Specialist

FocusOne, a Credit Union Servicing Organization (CUSO) located in Northwest Houston, partners with credit unions to provide exceptional mortgage and auto lending services.

This position is responsible for multiple payment processing and loan accounting-related duties within our Mortgage Servicing team.

Those duties will include processing payments received, daily system-balancing, and setup of borrower recurring ACH requests.

The specialist will also regularly collaborate with borrowers and credit union partners to oversee the timely generation of payoff quotes, the posting of funds once received, and any coordination necessary to ensure the proper release of paid-off loan documents at both the county and the custodian of record.

In addition, the specialist will collaborate with vendor partners to ensure the timely issuance of borrower statements, system letters, and the completion of monthly reporting of borrower payment records to the Credit Repositories.

Specialists are responsible for ensuring all account activities are documented in system notes and accurately reflect completed processes and borrower conversations.

The specialist will manage sensitive customer information and is expected to maintain the highest degree of borrower confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and PERCENT OF TIME SPENT :

• Ensure the timely posting of borrower payments and payoffs to the loan servicing system.
• Work closely with borrowers and credit union partners to ensure the proper administration and set-up of recurring ACH payment activities.
• Perform balancing processes nightly to help ensure the accuracy of processing steps performed by the team members throughout the day.
• Assist in researching and resolving borrower payment-related inquiries, helping to consistently provide a high-touch borrower experience.
• Clearly and concisely document loan-level status updates in the system of records for others to be able to follow.
• Ensure completion of Release of Lien activities within required state guidelines.
• Coordinate the timely notification of payoff activity to Investor-specific Document Custodians Reconcile quarterly with Document Custodians to ensure accuracy of completion   Oversee the nightly generation of system files used to coordinate with vendors the issuance of monthly statements, system-generated letters, and Credit Reporting updates Collaborate closely with partner Credit Unions to provide status updates and reporting.
