Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) – Joliet, IL
EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at our Joliet rental facility. We're growing with a focus on maintenance and repair for a variety of customer and company owned heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts. Mechanics will have the opportunity to work on the newest fleet in the industry.
Responsibilities
- Use our tech to create, assign, and monitor work orders, track service intervals, order parts, and diagnose issues quickly by pulling data from hundreds of makes and models.
- Determine root causes and corrective actions to enable faster, smarter work.
- Practice safe job practices for repairing equipment.
- Maintain paperwork / electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner daily.
- Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements (preferred).
- Participate in year-round OEM training provided by the company.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must own tools applicable to the position.Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with understanding of schematics and diagrams.Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal / written communication skills.High school diploma; trade school certificate preferred.Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred.Physical ability to move, stand, stoop and bend; ability to lift up to 50 pounds.This is a safety-sensitive position; offer contingent on passing a 10-panel drug screen.Schedule and Compensation
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 7 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with overtime after 40 hours. On-call during weekends in special circumstances. Salary range : $37.80 - $54.00 / hr; factors include past experience and location may affect final compensation.
