Responsibilities & Requirements :
Speech Language Pathologist makes assessments and provides appropriate services to help residents improve and / or regain skills as part of a comprehensive therapy regimen. This level of care involves problem solving, working with an interdisciplinary team and implementing a proactive plan of care to maintain the highest level of functioning.
Position requires a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology with Certificate of Clinical Competence and current NYS license
Experience in skilled nursing facility and subacute care
Excellent customer service skills; cheerful and pleasant demeanor
Positive attitude and outgoing personality with staff, residents and family members
Self-motivated with flawless time and attendance
Exceptional time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly
