Job Purpose
Responsible for providing interventions to youth in the Day Treatment Program for the purpose of helping youth remain in the school, community and in the home.
Qualifications
- Staff must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years of experience working with children who have a SED or have experienced abuse and neglect (9CSR 30-4.043(3)(I)).
- Valid driver’s license for current State of Residence, Class E for Missouri Driver’s License, or equivalent for State of staff’s residence, and current auto insurance.
Core Job Duties
Attend to the needs of and provide assistance to youth during Day Treatment activities and within the community, under the direction of the Day Treatment Director.Teach / Model appropriate behaviors and coping skills for the youth through group education and hands-on experiences based on person-centered care plan.Facilitate group activities that encourage positive choices, promote self-esteem, support academic achievement, and develop problem solving skills for home and school.Provide complete and timely documentation as per policy and procedures.Provide care to youth in a manner that promotes safety, comfort, and a therapeutic environment based on Trauma Informed approach.Assist with facilitating family activities.Responsible for transporting clients in agency and / or personal vehicle as deemed necessary and appropriate to meet program requirements.Work with an integrated treatment team, including care coordinator, therapist, and the school staff to provide consistent care.Intervene in behavioral health crisis situations, when needed, which may include use of restraint interventions in accordance with CPI guidelines and agency policy and procedure to prevent self-harm or harm to othersMaintain certification in CPI and CPR / First Aid.Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
