Responsibilities :
- Kforce has a client seeking a Cyber Security Analyst onsite in Northern Detroit, MI. This is a contract, entry-level role with hands-on learning opportunities.
- Support and strengthen security programs by assisting in managing security tools, building documentation, supporting awareness campaigns, and contributing to incident response efforts.
- Work under the mentorship of an experienced cybersecurity leader while gaining exposure to various technologies, platforms, and processes.
What You'll Do :
Support day-to-day security operations and projects alongside a senior cybersecurity specialist.Create and maintain critical documentation such as policies, procedures, and incident playbooks.Assist in deploying monthly security awareness training and phishing simulations.Monitor security platforms including SIEM and EDR tools, analyze alerts, and escalate risks.Participate in incident response activities like note-taking, evidence collection, and investigation summaries.Identify process gaps and suggest improvements to enhance cybersecurity posture.Maintain organized, current, and accessible documentation for the team.Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in IT, Security, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience with relevant training / certifications.Basic knowledge of operating systems (Windows / Linux), networks, and cyber threats.Strong writing and documentation skills with attention to detail.Interest in cybersecurity and eagerness to learn through practical experience.Proactive, able to follow structured processes, and receptive to feedback.Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.Willingness to participate in on-call rotation if needed.Nice-to-Have :
Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, ITIL, or similar.Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Sentinel, Splunk, Defender, CrowdStrike, or SentinelOne.Experience with Microsoft 365 security features, ticketing systems, or threat intel platforms.Additional Details :
This role is 100% onsite in Northern Detroit, MI.Ideal candidates are growth-oriented, take ownership, and bring energy to the mission.The pay range reflects the initial estimate based on current market data and may be adjusted. Compensation depends on education, experience, certifications, skills, and other factors.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life / disability insurance. Paid time off is provided for salaried employees; hourly employees' PTO depends on legal requirements.
Note : Compensation is considered earned upon payment. This role is not eligible for bonuses or commissions.
