The Expungement Community Outreach Coordinator will expand the reach and impact of the organization’s expungement program through strategic outreach, relationship-building, and community education connecting potential clients with CLA SoCal services provided by the Expungement Unit. The ideal candidate is a community connector passionate about second chances, comfortable speaking in public, and skilled at building trust with diverse communities. This full-time non-exempt position reports to the Directing Attorney of Client Services that oversees the Expungement Unit
Responsibilities :
- Dependent on grant, provide services to the reentry and Expungement community in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
- Dependent on grant, assist with grant reporting and tracking grant deliverables.
- Develop and implement outreach strategies that increase awareness of CLA SoCal expungement services and drive new client engagement.
- Plan, organize, and attend expungement outreach events.
- Represent CLA SoCal at outreach events in person such as resource fairs, reentry and expungement events, in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.
- Collaborate with current community partners to identify opportunities for CLA SoCal expungement outreach in the community.
- Establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with community partners and organizations to drive consistent referrals
- Assist with developing and distributing expungement materials for presentations, drafting flyers, and consulting with the Director of Fund Development to create other marketing and educational materials.
- Assist with client intakes at community in-person and / or remote events under the supervision of an attorney.
- Screen clients for eligibility, obtain demographic information and compliance forms.
- Assist with providing community expungement presentations to inform the community about the available reentry and expungement services provided by CLA SoCal both in-person and remotely.
- Monitor progress toward quarterly and annual client acquisition goals.
- Evaluate and refine outreach efforts to improve engagement and efficiency.
- Perform other duties as required to meet the needs of the organization.
Requirements :
Bilingual Spanish proficiency – Preferred.Knowledge of or lived experience with the criminal legal system, reentry, or expungement process – Preferred.Experience in community outreach, public speaking, or program coordination.Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.Great organizational skills with keen attention to detail.Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.Self-motivated, ability to learn quickly, initiative to problem-solve, and capacity to meet strict deadlines.Strong personal work ethic, initiative, and manage diverse activities with minimal supervision.Strong technical skills; including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of communities utilizing a trauma-informed and social justice frameworks.Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, active insurance policy or other ability to travel frequently in and around the service areas to engage community partners - Required.Ability to model CLA SoCal’s values and mission (compassion, collaboration, trust, accountability, and excellence) in the performance of job duties – Required.Holistic Benefits :
