Join our dynamic leadership team as Director of Hospice Sales and make a meaningful impact on families during their most challenging times. This role combines strategic sales leadership with the rewarding mission of expanding access to compassionate hospice care. You'll lead a high-performing team of hospice sales professionals, driving revenue growth while ensuring families receive the dignity and comfort they deserve. As a key member of our sales leadership team reporting directly to the Chief Sales Officer, you will be primarily field-based, working alongside your team to build relationships, close strategic accounts and expand our market presence. Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Vision
Lead and inspire a regional hospice sales team, driving the entire revenue organization toward ambitious growth goalsImplement comprehensive sales strategies in partnership with the CSO, setting clear goals, defining processes, and establishing robust sales funnels tailored to market demandsAnalyze market trends and data to identify emerging opportunities and potential threats, translating complex insights into actionable strategiesCollaborate cross-functionally with marketing, finance, operations, and clinical teams to ensure unified approach to revenue targetsTeam Management & Development
Manage and motivate a geographically dispersed team of sales professionals across multiple territoriesRecruit, hire, and train top sales talent that aligns with Optimal Care's culture and missionSet performance targets and implement systems to ensure team members consistently meet or exceed goalsFoster a high-performance culture that emphasizes both results and compassionate patient careProvide ongoing coaching and feedback to enhance individual and team sales effectivenessCreate an environment where sales professionals thrive, feel valued, and are motivated to excelSales Operations & Performance Management
Oversee day-to-day sales operations, ensuring streamlined processes and optimal resource allocationMonitor and analyze sales performance metrics to assess individual and team effectivenessManage sales forecasting and reporting, providing accurate predictions based on market analysis and historical dataIdentify areas for improvement and implement solutions to enhance sales efficiency and resultsLeverage technology including CRM systems to streamline customer interactions and gather valuable market insightsCustomer Relationship Excellence
Build and maintain relationships with key customers, strategic accounts, and business partnersEngage in important customer negotiations and resolve complex sales issues with professionalism and expertiseEnsure exceptional customer satisfaction and retention through superior service deliveryDevelop strategies that not only acquire new customers but maintain meaningful, long-term relationshipsMarketing & Communications Support
Partner with the CSO to ensure sales teams have the messages, tools, and materials necessary for successful implementation of hospice sales plansProvide market feedback to inform marketing strategies and material developmentEnsure consistent messaging across all customer touchpoints and sales interactionsRequired Qualifications
Minimum 2 years' experience in health care strategic developmentProven experience in healthcare sales, particularly in hospice or palliative careHigh School Diploma or GED equivalentValid Driver's License with reliable transportation and valid automobile insuranceDemonstrated interpersonal, coordination, and leadership skills with exceptional communication abilitiesPractical and theoretical knowledge of hospice and palliative care servicesProven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing high-performing teamsDesired Qualifications
Associate or bachelor's degree preferredActive involvement in professional organizations and community activitiesExperience with CRM systems and sales technology platformsLocation : This position can be based in Grand Rapids, Jackson, or Bingham Farms, Michigan, with primary work conducted in the field for all Optimal Care service areas.
Hours : Office Hours : 8 : 00 am – 5 : 00 pm, Monday through Friday
