Lead Fiber Splice Technician at MorCore
MorCore is seeking a sharp, dependable, and hard-working Lead Technician to oversee and drive the success of multiple civil construction and sitework projects. In this role, you'll be responsible for coordinating field operations, managing resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. This position requires strong organizational skills, a hands-on management style, and the ability to lead teams across various job sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple construction projects from planning through closeout.
- Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, field crews, materials, and equipment.
- Monitor job progress, resolve issues in real time, and ensure on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate documentation and daily project logs.
- Communicate with clients to ensure smooth operations.
- Monitor safety protocols are met.
- Provide daily updates to clients and company leadership on progress.
- Support a safe, productive, and positive jobsite culture.
- Perform fiber optic cable splicing and testing in various environments.
- Accurately read and interpret splice documentation and plans.
- Use fusion splicing machines and OTDR testing tools to ensure fiber integrity.
- Prepare cables and enclosures, and conduct troubleshooting when necessary.
- Maintain detailed project logs and documentation for each job.
- Work efficiently in both individual and team settings, ensuring quality control on all tasks.
- Follow all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Travel to job sites as required, often with overnight stays and weekend availability.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management or related fields.5+ years of experience in fiber splicing or related utility construction preferred.Strong problem-solving skills and a motivated, self-starting attitude.Reliable and punctual with a solid work ethic.Ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly on the job.Fiber optic certification is a strong plus.Must be comfortable working outdoors and in physically demanding environments.Valid driver's license required; personal transportation may be necessary for certain projects.Strong leadership and multitasking abilities.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines.Experience working with subcontractors and field personnel.Familiarity with construction documentation, scheduling, and reporting tools is preferred.Benefits
