Facility Setting : Acute Care – Operating Room (OR)

Start Date : September 29, 2025

End Date : December 29, 2025

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week

Shift : 10-hour day shifts (rotating to cover late discharges)

Call Requirements : Average one weeknight call; 24-hour call Friday night; Sat / Sun every 5th weekend; holiday call coverage (20-minute response time)

Orientation : 1-2 weeks with preceptor support

Scrubs : Provided by facility

Charting System : Meditech EMR

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2660 - $2850

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required for submission)

Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room RN experience (2-5 years preferred; strong candidates with less experience considered)

Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, and PALS certifications (required for all travel nursing jobs)

Experience with general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, gynecology, C-sections, and podiatry cases preferred

Cataract surgery experience is a plus

Previous travel nurses and experienced RNs encouraged to apply

Disclosure of all prior employment at any FHN Memorial location required

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality perioperative nursing care to surgical patients in a busy OR environment

Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical technologists to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Prepare, assess, and monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures

Accurately document patient care using Meditech electronic medical records

Participate in department orientation and ongoing clinical education

Take rotating on-call shifts as scheduled and respond within required timeframe

Maintain professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced healthcare setting
