Job Description American Traveler is seeking a Med / Surg Tele RN for night shifts at a major teaching hospital, requiring an NM or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications.

Responsibilities Work in the Med / Surg Tele unit of a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital

Patient ratios are typically 1 : 5, with a possibility of 1 : 6 due to high capacity

Night shift schedule with three 12-hour shifts per week, 19 : 00 to 07 : 30

Travelers are expected to float to MS / Tele, PCU, and ED and other similar acuity settings as needed

Weekend shifts required at least 2 per 4-week scheduling period

Uses Cerner for electronic charting

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Med / surg telemetry RN responsibilities include telemetry monitoring and IV starts

No on-call requirements

Black scrubs required and not provided by facility

Free on-site parking available

Requests for more than 10 days off require approval

Requirements Active NM or compact RN license, or able to obtain before assignment begins (pending license accepted)

Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke certifications required

Minimum of 1 year recent Med / Surg Telemetry nursing experience

Experience with IV starts and telemetry required

COVID-19 vaccination required, with religious or medical exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation

Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
