Mold Maker II
The Mold Maker II is responsible for advanced machining, mold maintenance, and repair tasks. This role requires a high level of technical expertise in CNC and manual machining, the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Essential Functions :
- Follow all company policies and safety procedures
- Operate CNC Haas Vertical Machining Centers (VMCs)
- Load tooling and programs into machines
- Execute jobs using setup sheets
- Inspect parts for accuracy and adjust offsets as needed
- Modify CNC programs directly on the machine when necessary
- Periodically operate manual machines such as hand mills, lathes, grinders, and cut-off saws
- Communicate with programmers before, during, and after projects
- Take ownership of designated machines and workspace to ensure cleanliness and safety
Required Skills :
Advanced skills in operating CNC mills and lathesTechnical ability to use inspection equipment and interpret blueprintsBasic programming skills to adjust CNC programsAbility to plan and execute project steps independentlyProficient in performing setups on all machines with minimal supervisionBasic operating skills on all hand machinesAbility to perform complex repairs on production or maintenance equipmentStrong understanding of mold and production equipment functionalityCommitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environmentPhysical Demands :
Prolonged periods of standing and walkingMust be able to lift up to 40 pounds at timesManual dexterity and visual acuity for precision workOccasional bending, stooping, and reachingCompetencies :
Technical Expertise : Demonstrates mastery in CNC and manual machining, including setup, operation, and troubleshootingAttention to Detail : Maintains high standards of precision and accuracy in all machining and mold repair workProblem Solving : Diagnoses complex mechanical issues and implements effective solutions with minimal supervisionTime Management : Efficiently prioritizes and completes multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlinesCollaboration : Works effectively with programmers, engineers, and production staff to ensure smooth workflow and quality outputInitiative : Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement and takes ownership of assigned responsibilitiesAdaptability : Responds flexibly to shifting priorities, new technologies, and evolving production needsSafety Awareness : Consistently adheres to safety protocols and promotes a culture of safety in the workplaceEducation : High school diploma or equivalent
Experience : At least five (5) years of related experience in machine or mold making preferred
