Inventory Accountant
Our client, a continually growing organization, is seeking a skilled and proactive Inventory Accountant with a strong background in inventory accounting to support our financial operations and help drive strategic insights across the business. The Inventory Accountant will play a key role in managing core accounting functions while taking ownership of inventory related processes, including costing, margin analysis, and reconciliation across multiple locations. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise and operational insight. The Inventory Accountant will be hybrid after training in Franklin, TN.
Salary up to $85,000
Responsibilities of the Inventory Accountant :
- Oversee general ledger activities, journal entries, and account reconciliations with a focus on inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)
- Analyze inventory margins, cost variances, and trends to support financial reporting and business decisions
- Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and finance teams to improve inventory tracking and costing methodologies
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including inventory-related accruals and adjustments
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
Qualifications of the Inventory Accountant :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field3+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant exposure to inventory accountingStrong understanding of inventory costing methods and margin analysisExperience working in a multi-location or multi-entity environmentProficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skillsReasons to Work Here as the Inventory Accountant :
