Telephone Counselor Associate (Remote-Texas Residents)

Join the Teacher Retirement System of Texas as a Telephone Counselor Associate. We are hiring remote work-from-home associates for candidates that reside in Texas.

The Telephone Counselor Associate will provide benefit counseling services to members and others regarding TRS benefit programs. The incumbent will participate in a formal classroom training program and then spend time with an on-the-job training (OJT) coach before answering phone calls on their own.

Responsibilities include :

• Counseling members and assisting school district officials regarding the full range of TRS benefit options.
• Explaining benefit options, including eligibility requirements and limitations, and providing general information and referral services on related benefit programs.
• Resolving and responding to telephone inquiries and complaints.
• Researching and resolving complaints and problems regarding service and disability requirements, projected benefits, health benefits, refunds, death benefits, purchase of special services, post retirements, district reporting requirements, agency forms, and other issues.
