Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates quality Environmental Services activities in accordance with hospital policies / procedures and criteria established by various legal and regulatory accrediting bodies.Supervises / oversees that responsibilities of the Environmental Services Department are performed in an accurate, timely, cost effective, professional, and confidential manner.Evaluates new equipment and supplies and places orders to maintain efficient operations.Orders linen to maintain efficient operations.Fulfills responsibilities of Technicians as deemed necessary.Promotes and enforces departmental compliance with general safety and infection control standards.Orients, trains, schedules and conducts annual evaluations.Assists with preparing and monitoring departmental goals, budget, and performance improvement activities.Performs other duties as assigned while demonstrating willingness, ability, and team spirit to provide optimal customer satisfaction.Assists with orientation / inservice and attends, demonstrates, and participates in required inservices, performance improvement activities (including EXCEL), and other educational programsMust be skilled in using a computer, word processing, and spreadsheet application.Requirements :
To fulfill the requirements of this position, the incumbent shall be a high school graduate; advanced education at the minimum college level of Associates Degree, or three years of proven successful experience in institutional housekeeping preferred; one year proven successful experience in supervision preferred; and, possess good communication skills in order to effectively supervise and communicate with inter and intra departmental employees, patients and their family members, physicians, and public. The incumbent must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills needed to proficiently provide service to the customer. The incumbent must have a working knowledge of, or awareness of resources for OSHA, State Department of Health, JCAHO, CDC, and Infection Control Practices.
