Job Description

We are looking for an Electrical Engineering Manager to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities :

As the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will oversee the team's efforts for the design, analysis, manufacturing and testing of a range of large rotating machines. This includes the resources management to support multiple project teams across all business segments. The manager will be responsible for assigning, developing and training electrical engineers within the group. The manager will also support the quotation and planning efforts of new work as well as manage existing orders on time and within budget allocations. He / she will ensure all technical work and documentation is within departmental and corporate guidance.

Salary : $130,000 - 190,000 per year

Your Challenge : \n

  • Assign work to support design, analysis, testing and manufacturing needs for a large resource group

  • Development and training of direct reports
  • \n

    \n

  • Work across multiple departments / business segments and project teams to support program execution
  • \n

    \n

  • Prepare cost estimates, scopes of work and engineering schedules with high fidelity
  • \n

    \n

  • Technical oversite and guidance for the design, analysis, testing and manufacture of large rotating machines including induction motors, wound field generators and permanent magnet machines
  • \n

    \n

  • Understand customer perspectives and inputs and take appropriate responsive actions
  • \n

    \n

  • Development and / or interpretation of equipment specifications
  • \n

    \n

  • Drive quality documentation and written communications including engineering calculations of record, technical letters, and customer deliverables
  • \n

    \n

  • Ensure work in accordance with departmental procedures and instructions, corporate policies such as safety, environmental, and security rules and guidelines
  • \n

    What you Bring : \n

  • Due to DoD requirements, candidates must be US citizens
  • \n

    \n

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain DoD Security clearances and approval
  • \n

    \n

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • \n

    \n

  • Experience with the design, analysis and manufacture of rotating machines
  • \n

    \n

  • 10 years of engineering experience in roles with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • \n

    \n

  • Prior industrial experience in nuclear or military applications / specifications
  • \n

    \n

  • 5+ years of prior engineering resource management experience
  • \n
