Attorney I
The Office of Data Privacy is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of legal work and providing legal counsel to the senior executive staff within the New York City Department of Social Services (DSS), the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the New York City Department of Homeless Services (DHS), including the DSS General Counsel and the DSS Commissioner on complex and high-level legal issues related to data privacy, data security and data privacy risk management. The Office also provides legal support to several mayoral initiatives and Agency reform efforts. Under the direction of Executive Agency Counsel, M-III / Chief Data Privacy Officer provide legal services on behalf of the DSS Commissioner that have significant financial, procedural and policy impact. The Office of the General Counsel of the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA) is recruiting for an Agency Attorney I within the Office of Data Privacy who will :
Work Location : 4WTC, 150 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007 Hours / Schedule : 9am 5pm, with flex.
Qualifications : Admission to the New York State Bar; and either one year of satisfactory United States legal experience subsequent to admission to any state bar; or six months of satisfactory service as an Agency Attorney Interne (30086). Incumbents must remain Members of the New York State Bar in good standing for the duration of this employment. In addition to meeting the minimum Qualification Requirements : To be assigned to Assignment Level (AL) II, candidates must have one year of experience at Assignment Level I or two years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment. To be assigned to AL III candidates must have two years of experience in Assignment Levels I and / or II or three years of comparable legal experience subsequent to admission to the bar, in the areas of law related to the assignment.
