Field Service Technician (Environmental Labor)

Overview

Field Service Technician (Environmental Labor) at Clean Harbors. This role is based in Chicopee, MA and involves hazardous waste cleanup, site remediation, equipment decontamination and handling of hazardous materials.

Base pay range

$19.00 / hr - $22.00 / hr

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
• Engage in strenuous physical labor including lifting and pulling heavy objects
• Operate light and heavy equipment, handle various hand tools and powered industrial tools, and work with vibration-producing tools
• Wear and properly use a variety of personal protective Equipment (PPE), including respirators and other protection
• Work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures and weather conditions
• Work in potentially hazardous atmospheres and with chemical / physical agents
• Work in elevated noise levels, confined spaces, ladders and scaffolding
• Assist in field sampling activities and calibration of meters
• Climb ladders, scaffolding and into and out of trucks, tanks and other containers
• Work extended hours as needed, participate in on-call emergency response on a rotating basis
• Attend compliance and safety update meetings
• Inspect drums for container integrity and regulatory compliance
• Safe loading and unloading of hazardous and non-hazardous waste
• Conduct waste stream sampling and profiling as necessary
• Follow local, state (provincial) and federal regulations
• Operate vehicles in compliance with U.S. DOT and other requirements
• Observe all company environmental health and safety guidelines
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials as required by position

The posted salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for this role. Final compensation may vary based on location, experience, skills, and business needs. In addition to base salary, some roles may be eligible for bonuses or incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.
