We are seeking an entry-level detail-oriented Hazardous Materials Specialist to support our waste management and shipping operations.

Non-Exempt. This role will work closely with the treatment, storage and disposal facilities to ensure that waste is characterized correctly and ensure that all hazardous material shipments brokered by our company comply with DOT and hazardous material regulations while meeting customer delivery expectations.

Duties

• Prepare and process hazardous material and non-hazardous material air and ground shipments in compliance with DOT regulations.
• Accurately complete shipping paperwork, labels, and documentation for domestic ground and air freight.
• Inspect and verify product packaging, labeling, and placarding for all shipments.
• Coordinate with internal departments and carriers to ensure timely and compliant deliveries.
• Assist with profiling customer waste streams to capture all physical, chemical, and radiological properties.
• Maintain shipping and characterization records and ensure data accuracy.
• Adhere to all company safety procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand / walk for extended periods.
