Director, Program Management
We are looking for a highly enthusiastic leader with exceptional communication skills, leadership abilities, program management process knowledge to lead and coach PM professionals. This role is key to shaping our future as we grow and scale our business.
As the Director and leader of 15-20 staff in the Program Management Office (program management, subcontract program management, master scheduler and customer service representatives), you will have primary focus on ensuring customer satisfaction through maintenance of program schedules, on-time delivery, project status updates, and quality of deliverables while maintaining project margins, controlling program cost, and driving business plans.
Key Metrics of Performance
- Accurately forecast, track and report contract revenue, program billing and invoice collections across all open programs
- Achieve program performance execution : on-time and on-budget at the program level
- Achieve and maintain department skill set / capabilities at average or above and adequately fulfill department resource gaps
- Improve and maintain customer satisfaction scores
Key Responsibilities
Establish structure, process and customer accountability culture in the Program Management Office centered around achievable program plans, risk management, schedule adherence and on-budget performance while achieving revenue, profitability and working capital objectives of the business unitAble to simultaneously manage interdependent programs and interface with customers (internal and external) effectivelyPerform supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable lawsProvides oversight and leadership for program portfolio across BU; program performance, customer satisfactions, key account penetration, and business growthResponsible for program P&L including but not limited to : Budgets; Actual Costs; Estimates to Complete; Invoicing; Receivables and Unbilled ReceivablesProactively manage customer escalations with clear and executable mitigation / recovery plansWorks with engineering & business development on proposals and negotiationsProvides coaching and mentoring; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing issues and resolving problemsFoster and lead business development culture and strategies across key accounts in PMO groupCore Abilities and Experience
15+ years Program and Project Management experience5 - 10 years directly managing programs in a related environment5+ years leading a PM OrganizationProgressively responsible management experience in leading a PMO along with a record of producing results, meeting financial targets and leading organizational changesStrong contract / scope / finance negotiations skillsStrong understanding of program management principles and processStrong financial acumen and experience managing program P&L (ETC / EAC / Budgets / EVMS)Excellent communication, written and presentation skillsConsiderable flexibility of methods required to be meeting programs goals and executing deliverablesStrong customer engagement experience with track record of growing accountsExcellent understanding and empirical application of Project / Program Management process with demonstrated performance and understanding of principlesRelevant experience in the Defense Electronics or Electronic Warfare domain experience is preferredUnderstanding of engineering, operations (procurement, subcontracting, and manufacturing), system integration and test, quality assurance, configuration management, logistics, contract administration, standard business practices, finance, and the relationship of programs within a portfolio.Knowledge of government procurement, bidding, contracting, and standards and specificationsBachelor's degree in electronic, software or mechanical engineering or related technical discipline; Advanced engineering degree (MS) or MBALOCATION : Santa Clarita, California
SALARY : $200,000.00-$230,000.00
