Boiler Turbine Operator

• Provide feedback to plant management on safety and environmental procedures, programs and polices which will assist in future revisions and increase their effectiveness.
• Startup, shut down and operation of steam turbine and boiler under the direction of the Control Room Operator.
• In cooperation with other Operators, detect mechanical or electrical problems and submit work requests for the repairs of these problems.
• Monitoring and reporting equipment conditions to the Control Room Operator.
• Work overtime as required to maintain operational staffing and to assist in maintenance or major outages.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Average computer skills, including word processing.
• Ability to read and interpret plant drawings and procedures.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
• Ability to perform both operations and maintenance functions.
• Ability to work independently, with a minimum of supervision and direction.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for multiple audiences.
• Minimum 3 years in the operation and maintenance of power plants.
• Familiarity with MS Windows, MS Office Suite, including MS Word and Excel.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid drivers license required.
• First Aid / CPR training desired.
• Be able to obtain Third Class Boiler Operations license within the first year of employment.

Job Type : Full-time

Pay : $32.00 - $36.00 per year
