Med / Surg RN Job Details – Peoria, IL Location : Peoria, Illinois 61637 (Central Illinois healthcare jobs) Assignment Type : Travel Registered Nurse Unit : Adult Medical Specialty – Med / Surg (Medical Surgical Nursing) Shift : 12-hour days (7 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM), 3 shifts / week Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Contract Duration : 18 weeks (Start : 11 / 17 / 2025 – End : 3 / 23 / 2026) Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend Holiday Requirement : As scheduled Charting System : EPIC EMR Orientation : 2-3 shifts (12 hours non-billable orientation) Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,990–$2,130 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process) BLS certification (AHA required) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg nursing experience Proficiency with central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes EPIC charting experience preferred Experience in a Level I Trauma Center is a plus Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screen (drug-free campus) Professional appearance (any color scrubs; no visible tattoos or piercings except ears) Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients with acute medical conditions such as cellulitis, sepsis, dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, syncope, anemia, diabetes, respiratory failure, liver / kidney failure, and behavioral health / addictions Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4-5 (day shift) Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge RNs and patient care techs Manage and utilize central lines, tracheostomies, and chest tubes Administer medications and monitor set-rate drips (Heparin, Lasix) Document patient care in EPIC EMR Float to other acute care general medicine units as needed (nephrology, neurology, orthopedics, oncology) Participate in self-scheduling and block scheduling as part of a flexible nursing team Apply now to join our healthcare team and take the next step in your Med / Surg nursing career with this rewarding travel RN job in Peoria, Illinois!
