Position Summary
The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and healthcare providers while ensuring accuracy, safety, and compliance.
This role also involves compounding customized medications , providing patient education, and collaborating with clinical teams to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong clinical judgment, precision, and a patient-first mindset.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversees and verifies the accuracy of all work completed by pharmacy technicians.
Key Responsibilities Dispensing & Clinical Support
Review prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and suitability.
Provide counseling on drug interactions, side effects, storage, and proper use .
Advise physicians and practitioners on dosage, selection, and potential interactions .
Compounding & Formulation
Accurately compound and dispense medications based on physician prescriptions.
Prepare customized dosage forms such as creams, ointments, gels, capsules, suspensions, and suppositories .
Ensure compounded medications meet required potency, purity, and sterility standards .
Records & Compliance
Maintain accurate pharmacy records , including patient profiles, inventory logs, and controlled substance registries.
Adhere to all state and federal regulations governing pharmacy operations and controlled substances.
Plan, implement, and monitor procedures for mixing, labeling, and packaging pharmaceuticals in compliance with clinic policies and legal requirements.
Patient & Provider Collaboration
Provide specialized counseling for patients managing chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma).
Promote preventive health and wellness , including training patients on monitoring devices.
Collaborate with providers to evaluate drug regimens and patient response.
Analyze prescribing trends to prevent excessive use or adverse interactions.
Inventory & Operations
Order, purchase, and manage pharmaceutical and medical supplies .
Maintain appropriate stock levels and ensure proper storage.
Support operational efficiency and cost control.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
Must hold a valid Wyoming Board of Pharmacy License .
Certification in Pharmaceutical Compounding preferred but not mandatory.
Experience
Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience preferred.
Experience with non-sterile and / or sterile compounding processes strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
Strong patient service and communication skills.
Excellent knowledge of pharmacology, chemistry, and drug interactions .
Strong understanding of medical and biological terminology .
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
