Position Summary

The Carrier Management Specialist is responsible for strategically sourcing transportation capacity, building strong carrier partnerships, and ensuring high-quality service for GET Freights customers. This role serves as the key link between shippers and carriersnegotiating competitive rates, organizing shipments, monitoring performance, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate is a skilled negotiator with excellent communication abilities, attention to detail, and proven experience in freight brokerage or logistics account management.

Key Responsibilities

1) Customer & Carrier Relations

Proactively communicate with customers to understand needs and resolve service issues.

Develop, maintain, and expand relationships with carriers, drivers, and dispatchers.

Onboard new customers, establish SOPs, and set service expectations.

2) Freight Operations

Source and secure transportation capacity to meet customer requirements.

Organize pickup and delivery schedules, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective shipments.

Track and monitor shipments, providing proactive updates to customers.

Address and resolve service disruptions, delays, or damage claims.

3) Rate Negotiation & Profitability

Negotiate freight rates with carriers to achieve competitive pricing.

Convert spot lanes into consistent, dedicated capacity.

Support RFPs, bids, and special projects with accurate pricing and capacity solutions.

Monitor brokerage KPIs (margin, carrier utilization, service levels) to ensure profitability.

4) Compliance & Documentation

Ensure all freight operations meet DOT, FMCSA, and industry regulatory requirements.

Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and carrier agreements.

Verify carrier compliance with insurance, safety ratings, and contractual terms.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

24 years of proven freight brokerage, carrier sales, or logistics account management experience.

Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

Proficient in TMS, Microsoft Office Suite, and related logistics software.

Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Employment Type : Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Base Pay : $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

Medical, dental, and vision insurance (company covers 85%).

Work Schedule and Location

Standard workweek : Monday to Friday, 8 : 00 AM 5 : 00 PM

Occasional support for after-hours as required.

Primary work location is Duluth, GA.

Occasional travel to branch offices (Mobile, AL / Savannah, GA / Oakland, CA) may be required.

Measurable Goals (KPIs)

Carrier Development : Add at least 57 new qualified carriers per quarter into the active network.

Margin Performance : Achieve and maintain a minimum gross margin of (10%) per load.

Load Coverage : Secure carrier capacity and cover 95%+ of assigned loads on time.

Service Reliability : Maintain on-time pickup and delivery rate of 98% or higher.

Customer Satisfaction : Achieve and sustain a customer satisfaction score of 90%+ on post-shipment feedback.

RFP / Bid Support : Deliver accurate pricing and capacity responses within 48 hours of customer RFPs or mini-bids.

Compliance : Ensure 100% carrier compliance with insurance, safety ratings, and contract requirements.
