About The Position

Job Title : MRI Technologist

Profession : Clinical-Allied

Specialty : -

Duration : 13 weeks

Shift : Flexible, 4 days per week

Hours per Shift : 10.5 hours

Experience : Prefer cross-sectional anatomy experience or MRI experience.

License : Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Certifications : Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.

Must-Have : Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Description :

Following established protocols and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, MRI Technologists will perform procedures for the direct results of interpretation.

Technologists will assist radiologists on procedures as needed and be responsible for supervision of student MRI Technologists assigned to them.

Encourages and maintains good customer relations.

Responsible for the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures utilizing age-appropriate care.

Obtains correct written order for procedures.

Efficiently utilizes imaging equipment with attention to minimizing repeat examinations.

Instructs and prepares patients regarding imaging procedures and assists in obtaining informed consent as needed.

Ensures patient understanding of procedures.

Communicates with family members regarding discharge instructions.

Responds actively and sensitively to the needs of internal and external customers.

Ensures correct orders, diagnosis, and clinical history are entered into the computer system.

Communicates effectively with radiologists regarding procedures and presents a positive and professional demeanor.

Adheres to hospital and departmental policies and procedures, including safety policies.

Practices good radiation protection and follows established guidelines.

Completes annual mandatory in-services and maintains current licensure requirements.

Supports and promotes department efforts in meeting established projects and goals.

Holds medical and sensitive information in confidence.

Assists other members of the Imaging Team and / or other disciplines to maintain records, reports, and files.

Demonstrates flexibility and accountability in job duties and takes initiative towards improving departmental operations.

Must have strong knowledge of OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards and regulations.

Requires mature individuals who project a professional and business-like appearance.

Must maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.

Frequent standing, walking, and lifting / moving patients are required.

Frequent use of finger / hand dexterity is necessary.

Corrected hearing and vision to normal range is expected.

Frequent exposure to risk of radiation and other conditions common to a healthcare environment.

Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours.

May be required to take call or work weekends / holidays based on departmental needs.
