Registered Nurse Adult Congenital Heart Disease Unit

We are searching for an Acute Care Registered Nurse for our Adult Congenital Heart Disease unit– someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will provide nursing care to adult and pediatric patients with acute care needs. Working in a Cross Coverage Care Model will afford you with the unique opportunity to provide continuity care to patients with complex congenital heart disease at various stages within our Heart Center of Excellence.

Patients with congenital heart disease need life-long cardiac care from pediatrics to adulthood. Come be a part of their journey as a member of this specialized care team. The learning opportunities are endless beginning with training on a variety of Ventricular Assist Devices (VAD's), multiple infusions like Heparin and Diuretics, hemodynamic monitoring, early mobilization, and respiratory therapy management.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor's degree in nursing, or an associate's degree in nursing and current enrollment in a nursing bridge program is required
• Current licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• 1 year of professional nursing experience required, 2 years preferred
• Experience preferred in Cardiology, Acute Care, or Intermediate (IMU / Stepdown)
• The ability to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skills, good time and resource management skills, flexibility, strong oral and written communication skills, knowledge of unit-specific equipment, and knowledge of the nursing process, critical thinking skills, and interdisciplinary collaboration
