  • Job Title : Labor & Delivery RN – Travel Nurse\n
  • Location : Knoxville, TN 37916 (Tennessee nursing jobs)\n
  • Employment Type : Travel Nursing Contract\n
  • Unit : Labor & Delivery (L&D), with float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) as needed\n
  • Shift : Night, 3x12-hour shifts (19 : 00 - 07 : 30)\n
  • Hours per Week : 36\n
  • Assignment Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 20 / 2025 – End : 1 / 19 / 2026)\n
  • On-Call : 36 hours every 6 weeks\n
  • Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend or 2 weekends per month\n
  • Orientation : 36 hours\n
  • Patient Ratio : 1 : 2 in Labor & Delivery; Mother / Baby float 1 : 3 or 1 : 4\n
  • Charting System : Cerner\n
  • Estimated Weekly Salary Range : $1880 - $2020\n

    • \n\nRegistered Nurse Qualifications\n \n

  • Active TN or compact state RN license (must be in hand at time of submission)\n
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience\n
  • Required certifications : ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), AWHONN Intermediate, NRP, NIHSS\n
  • Experience with Cerner electronic charting preferred\n
  • Ability to float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) unit as needed\n
  • Prior travel nursing experience required\n
  • Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions considered)\n
  • Must be able to work every other weekend or 2 weekends per month\n
  • No time off requests during major holidays\n

    • \n\nLabor & Delivery RN Responsibilities\n \n

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced L&D unit\n
  • Assist with high-risk deliveries, cesarean sections, and postpartum recovery\n
  • Float to Mother / Baby (Postpartum) unit as required by staffing needs\n
  • Administer medications, monitor fetal heart rates, and provide lactation support\n
  • Educate parents on newborn care, car seat safety, and discharge instructions\n
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and social services\n
  • Maintain accurate patient documentation using Cerner\n
  • Participate in on-call rotation and adhere to weekend coverage requirements\n
