American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry / Step Down position requiring strong cardiac and telemetry skills, BLS / ACLS, and Epic experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit within a hospital settingFast-paced environment with high patient turnoverPatient population includes post-op cardiac surgeries (CABG / Valve, thoracotomy), vascular cases, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacemaker, defibrillator placements, ablations, and medical-surgical overflow patients (e.g., detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure)Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4Night shifts are 12 hours, 7 : 00 p.m. to 7 : 30 a.m.Required to work every other weekend and every other holidayFloating to all inpatient units as neededNo on-call or call-back requirements for scheduled shiftsUses Epic EMR, with recent Epic charting experience requiredResponsibilities include independent management of cardiac stepdown patients, including those requiring advanced cardiac drips and post-surgical monitoringMust be able to manage change and work independently in a dynamic environmentSocial and resilient personality traits desiredScrub color is flexible; any color is acceptableHoliday coverage is required for every other holidayTravelers may be placed on call during low census but are eligible for call back pay if needed\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI or compact RN licenseCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationsMust pass an EKG test during the first week of hireMinimum 1 year recent strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU settingMinimum 2 years recent experience in IMC, PCU, or Telemetry unitsExperience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips is mandatoryAt least one completed travel assignment requiredAt least one year of recent Epic EMR charting experienceMust live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility\n Benefits\n
